NL / In dit videowerk van 6 minuten 44 seconden, probeert Laura Stellacci met virtual reality om ons een nieuwe ruimte te geven waarin we alle toekomstige indrukken van onze zintuigen kunnen laten toekomen. Een sensorium om naar het heden en zijn puzzels te kijken, waar tijd en ruimte kunnen samenvallen in iets waarneembaar. Haar modecollectie ‘Get Rid of Yourself’ plaatst ze hierin. In deze collectie van handgeprinte bodysuits en gebreide kleding, is elk stuk een letter van de titel. Zo wilt elk stuk een referentie naar iets anders zijn, maar tegelijkertijd is dit geen referentie, vermits letters van een taal enkel samen naar iets anders refereren. Maar toch betekenen de losse letters iets binnen dat systeem, hier als een doorlopende zin, in loop.

EN / In this 6 minutes 44 seconds work, Laura Stellacci tries to give us a new space through the use of virtual reality. A space where all our future impressions and sensations can come together so we can make sense of them. Some sort of sensorium to look at the present and its puzzles, where space and time can collapse into situated presence. Her fashion collection ‘Get Rid of Yourself’ is put in this ‘virtual reality’. In this collection of hand-printed bodysuits and knitted garments, every piece is a letter of the title. Every piece wants to be a reference to something, but at the same time not being able to do just that, letters in a language only reference in combinations. But still, even single letters mean something in this system, as a continuous sentence, in loop.

The music was written by bosusual Jan Matthé!
